Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society is a non-profit organization that works with people from all walks of life, no matter their race, religion, age, sex, or marital status. With a focus towards the First Nations community, we provide an array of social, educational, healing, and spiritual services to meet the needs of the community. Using both traditional and contemporary methods, we seek to retain the heritage and lifestyle of the First Nations while reaching out to those who have chosen unstable paths, offering them the opportunity to heal in a non-judgmental environment. Our primary goal of the Friendship Society is therefore "to promote total well-being for aboriginal people in all human dimensions: Physical, Spiritual, Mental and Emotional" (www.kfs.bc.ca). We seek these goals through our programs and events. This blog will provide you with information about our past and current events, and at the bottom of the page you will find a list of upcoming events and their details.
The Last Friday of the Month @ 4.00 - 8.00pm
Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society
Come join us for Family Night from 4-8 pm every month. We provide a range of activities including bingo, crafts, and games. This is a huge event with many kids so there is no shortage of excitement! And as per usual, food will be served.
Come visit us outside of Superstore where we will be taking part in the Kettle Campaign for the Salvation Army. Every year, the Salvation Army collects donations in public places to raise money for those in need. To help out a fellow society, we will be jingling the bells for the Salvation Army during the afternoon. Come drop by and say hi!
December 18, 2010 @ 10.00 -12.00 pm & 1.00 - 3.00 pm
Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society
We will be holding a Children's Christmas party for the KFS patrons, a way to say thank you to the support of the people who use our programs and services. As with all of our events, food will be provided, and a fun time is guaranteed! Due to the large amount of children that participate in our programs, we will be having two separate sessions.
On the third Thursday of every month there is an Elder's luncheon. However, on December 16, we will be holding a Christmas luncheon for our Elders. Along with a delicious meal to commemorate the Elders in the community, Santa, too, will be in attendance.

The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society
Come join us for the Feed the People dinner. This event is open for the whole community and we'd love to see you there! Best of all, you won't have to expect a traditional turkey dinner; we will be serving a buffalo roast with all of the fixings. If you don't already have plans for Christmas Eve, this is a great place to come.
